Christmas Tree

This tree is 76cm high and made with 8 layers of cake.
It was a wonderful challenge to create a cake this size in a short amount of time.

It also won 2nd place at a local Christmas Tree festival only being beaten by an actual tree from our lovely Lower school.

Merry Christmas

Frozen Elsa cake

I have been itching to make this cake since I saw the film and jumped at the chance when it arose.
I made subtly flavoured peppermint boiled sweets to use as the shards and filled the vanilla sponge with strawberry jam and buttercream.
Such a great adventure!

Tinkerbell

I had so much fun making this Tinkerbelle cake! The look on my precious client Isabella's face was worth every second.

The Purple Princess

A lovely purple Princess for a special 6th birthday. She is filled with a vanilla sponge and warm white chocolate gananche.
Yum!

'67 Fiat Dino

Another delicious cake to try is this moist Carrot cake. It has a lemony cream cheese icing and only gets tastier the next day.

I had great fun modelling this car. What a challenge.

A treat at home!

Chocolatey heaven!
So a few weeks ago on a Saturday afternoon I felt that certain craving hit and there was really nothing for it but to break out the big guns. This Chocolate swissroll is filled with caramel and whipped cream before it is smothered (because there is no other word for it) in a dark chocolate ganache.
It is lick-your-plate-clean-delicious!

I posted its recipe to a FB page called 'Lekker Resepte vir die Jongergeslag' (translates as Delicious recipes for the younger generation) and it was made recipe of the day! Feel free to have a search for their blog http://lekkerreseptevirdiejongergeslag.blogspot.co.uk/ . It is definitely worth a look.
